VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PROJECT BUDDY

Here's an excerpt from an e-mail I got from Janette Ang.

Hello Janette,

I’m Yan Wen from Youth Infinity, The Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centres. As spoken earlier, I understand that students at NYP would be interested in volunteering in Project Buddy. Youth Infinity will be running Project Buddy very soon, and we would like to request student volunteers from NYP to inspire and guide Secondary One students from Chong Boon Secondary.

Project Buddy is run for Chong Boon Secondary School students. These students, together with the guidance of NYP student volunteers will plan and execute a service learning project. The last cohort of Project Buddy involved students from Chong Boon Secondary and Anderson Junior College collaborating on a mural painting. NYP has also supported Project Buddy in the past years and we appreciate the students’ maturity and passion for giving back to the community. The student volunteers will be awarded CIP points for their participation.

YSS mentors, this saturday (7 July 07) is offically the first mentoring session with English as the first session. All attendance counts. English department, are you ready? Please meet at Yishun MRT, 8am sharp. Atiqah will not be coming for mentoring club this saturday due to minor surgery so activity department, have you prepared? See you guys and gals this saturday. This saturday will be 8am and subsequent week we will meet at YSS Mentoring Club classroom at 8:45am. Session will end at 11:30am. Please don't be late and this saturday attandance is compulsory as I will be distributing the shirts only once.
